In 2022, the Nasher Sculpture Center selected renowned artist, curator, and activist, Vick Meek, as their inaugural Nasher Public Fellow in Urban Historical Reclamation and Recognition. Meek's project will document and memorialize the Tenth Street Freedman's Town through collaborative, community-centered research and design. Her efforts with the community will culminate in a public art project that incorporates history and public memory. Partners include RBDallas and the Tenth Street Residential Association.
